About Cory Trepanier
The fine art of Cory Trépanier has inspired and engaged thousands with the beauty of our Canadian lands, waters and skies. Cory’s

interaction with his subject through extensive exploration transforms his canvases into compelling paintings in oil. In the end, a viewer of these works is faced with more than just a representation of a place and time, but is transported there through the artist’s unique vision. His quickly rising profile has been aided by the multi-facetted approach taken to his career and has gained him extensive exposure on television, radio, print and the internet. Cory has also applied his creative talents to the production of his own documentary, going to air in 2006, and through public speaking, most recently at the McMichael Collection in Kleinburg. Through these ongoing efforts a vast audience is becoming aware of his work and the subject he paints. On this path, the name Cory Trépanier is growing synonymous with the Canadian landscape and the exploration of it.

Art Background
Graduated in 1990 from Sheridan College, and began immediately freelancing as a commercial illustrator, creating paintings for numerous government agencies, magazines, advertising agencies and private companies. Some of his clients/projects over these years included:

1990-2000: The National Capital Commission in Ottawa (series of illustrations including Winterlude Festival posters), Campbell’s, IBM, Ontario Out of Doors magazine, Outdoor Canada magazine, Outdoor Life magazine, and more.
1999-2003: Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources: 3 major commissions for paintings for the production of promotional/educational posters. 1999: “Cold Comfort”, 2000: “The Living Coast”, 2003: “Oak Ridges Moraine”.
2003: The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority: “The Humber”.
Visit his website for full more details on these projects.

Throughout these years, Cory pursued his passion for his own painting in between commercial commissions. In 2001 this led to him pursuing his own major art endeavour, the “COAST To CANVAS Project”. This project saw the artist and his family spend almost a month in each season exploring the coasts of Lake Superior and Georgian Bay. During these treks, the Trépaniers paddled, camped and filmed while Cory painted. The result was a touring exhibition in 2004 consisting of over 30 oil paintings and a 40-minute documentary that shared their experiences and the creative process. The film, titled "A Painter's Odyssey", went on to win the environment category of the 2005 Waterwalker Film Festval, and was subsequently acquired in the spring of 2006 by Bravo! television in Canada for broadcast.

Whether in the rolling hills behind his studio, or further afield in some of our nations’ parks and other marvelous locations, the variety that can be found in this vast creation is a continual source of inspiration. Surrounded by the outdoors in the hills of Caledon East, Ontario, Cory lives with his wife Janet, and two young daughters, Andie and Sydney.
