Taking a time out to toss a fly with new friend Dieter (Dede for short). As we headed north from Carmack, we spotted Dede and his wife Tanja looking on the roadside looking for a lift to Dawson City. They are visiting Canada for the first time for the whole summer from Switzerland, and had just come off a 9-day canoe trip on the Yukon from Whitehorse. Having been married for less than a year, they were off exploring, kind of an extended honeymoon. Over the next day we got to know them quite well, especially the girls who played games with them all the way to Dawson in the RV.
